Barn Owls and nesting birds

All birds, their eggs and nests are protected by law, and some species described in Schedule 1 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (e.g. barn owls) have additional protection when nesting.

Helix Ecology and associates routinely undertake surveys for nesting birds, including barn owls, as part of a preliminary ecological appraisal (PEA), extended phase 1 survey, or ecological impact assessment (EcIA).

Timely surveys can help reduce costs and prevent delays.  Download our ecological survey calendar for more information.
